Xpanda guarantees all Roller Shutter Doors (RSD) and Slide Over Doors (SOD) against defective manufacturing. This is subject to correct installation and operation for a period of twelve months from date of purchase.

In spite of Xpanda’s attention to quality, RSD and SOD, like all products with a substantial steel content, remain vulnerable when exposed to certain environmental conditions, regardless of the corrosion treatment they received during production.

As we have little control over what happens to a RSD or SOD after it has been installed at a customer’s premises, we have little choice but to leave the responsibility of maintaining such doors to the customer.

It is thus imperative that RSD and SOD be cleaned and lubricated regularly. Dust and dirt must be removed from the slats or panels and inside of the side guides. The door should be washed or hosed down with a "salt free" solution (car wash solution or similar).

Regularly lubricate the external springs with penetrating oil or similar lubricant.

A small amount of good quality grease can be applied to the inside of the side guides (not applicable to SOD). This should however be avoided in areas exposed to excessive dust and sand. i.e. beachfronts or dusty environments.

In areas which are notorious for their high occurrence of corrosion, such as coastal areas, RSD and SOD will require more frequent cleaning and lubrication.
 
 

Avoid installing Galvanised RSD within 500m of the beachfront. Aluminium doors are preferable under these conditions.

NOTE: Thorough and correct routine maintenance ensures that RSD and SOD remain safe to operate, conform to present standards and current legislation in addition to extending the useful life of the product.

Over time, such items as lifting springs, cables, bearings and rollers become worn and require adjustment or replacement. This work should only be carried out by qualified door installers and should never be attempted by inexperienced personnel. There are numerous instances where serious injury has been sustained to inexperienced personnel attempting adjustment or maintenance of industrial doors.
